Our Story so far ...
Life Church belongs to the Elim Pentecostal Church in the UK. Elim Pentecostal Church is a growing Movement of over 600 Pentecostal churches working in the United Kingdom, Ireland and over 40 nations around the world. For more information on Elim, please click on the Elim logo.
Life Church has been in Epping for over 30 years. Life church was originally set up by Pastor Brian Richardson in Thornwood Village Hall in 1984. In 1986 Life church moved to Epping where it purchased a small gospel hall on Fairfield Road.
In 1989 Pastor Brian left and Pastor Paul Walker became the new senior Pastor. In 2003 the churched moved to a more central location in Epping and for a time held meetings at the Methodist Church in Epping.
In 2004 Lee Carmichael joined Life Church as the associate Pastor. With a view to growth Fairfield gospel hall was sold for development in 2006. In 2009 Pastor Paul left to become a missionary in Swaziland. And Pastor Lee took over as senior Pastor.
In 2014 Pastor Lee left Life Church to become senior Pastor of Elim – Ingatestone and Life Church moved from its premises from Epping Hall to the Box, St Johns Road Epping.
Between 2014 and 2020 Life church was led by three Elders: Pam Johns, John McCredie and David Smith.
In 2020, Life Church welcomed Pastor David Tarr as its new senior Pastor.
Life Church now meets for Sunday Worship in Epping Hall. The Church office address is at the Box, St. Johns Road, Epping a shared space that we use for all other church activities including prayer meetings, Ladies and Men’s' breakfast, Alpha courses etc.
